Shortly after their formation, KAYAMBA AFRICA participated in the 1998 Malibu Star Search Competition emerging 2nd nationally. With a diverse musical background, KAYAMBA AFRICA was also voted as one of the best five groups at the Benga Beats Competition in 2001. After three years of studying their music and composing, they released their debut album Kayamba Africa after they were invited to perform at various concerts.
Kayamba Africa 2nd album “SHEREHE” has been well received and currently the Group is the most sort-after for entertainment and cuts across all typed of color, creed and language.
The group aims to reach out through their music to all audiences. Kayamba Africa has released its third consecutive CD, VCD, and DVD titled SIMBA. It contains twelve songs from different communities in Kenya. This includes a song in Hindi. Also included are songs from Ameru and Samburu.
